Halloween
WELCOME

We hope you will consider exploring our vibrant, active community.    At the heart of The Memorial Spiritualist Church (M.S.C.) are two dedicated ministers, certified mediums and healers, and student and lay workers.  It is said that many come to a Spiritualist church for the messages from Spirit and they stay for the message of Spiritualism.

The message of Spiritualism is that God (Infinite Intelligence) lives in all things and has provided consistent, unchangeable and immutable Natural Spiritual Laws as our guideline for living and growing spiritually.  These Laws, when lived harmoniously, allow us to create a life of harmony.

We are individually responsible for understanding and living the Laws to create that harmony for ourselves.  Yet, at the same time we are each an inseparable part of a Divine Indivisible Whole.

As part of the Divine Indivisible Whole, we each have teachers, guides, and loved ones who assist us to learn what we need to know; some who share this physical world with us and some who have passed to Spirit before us.  Those teachers, guides and loved ones that have passed into Spirit still strive to enlighten us by sending messages of love and encouragement through Mediums.  Love is the first law of life.

In our Fourth and Fifth Declaration of Principles (see "About Spiritualism"), we affirm that life never ends; we never die; and after we make a transition from the physical life into spirit, we continue to express ourselves, we continue to grow spiritually, and we continue to evolve and progress.

This is a message that Spiritualists are passionate about and one that brings comfort, peace and joy to everyone.

PROPHECIES FOR 2009

Rev. Carol Brown

AROUND THE WORLD

Russia – I see a bear rising up on hind legs as a warning not to threaten his territory – this might be a warning to China.
Laos and Thailand with become entangled in some dispute, but will be able to come to a mutual agreement within a few weeks.

India and Pakistan – Government officials manage to work together to keep a fragile peace despite some terrorist activities designed to initiate conflict … more lives lost.
Continent of Africa –A lot of progress will be made in many areas of conflict, but continued violence in Darfur throughout the year.

Ethiopia in news forefront also – Aid being sent to them in form of medicines and most importantly food being sent due to weather related food shortages.

I also see skirmishes in Syria at Iraq border. I don’t think that will be anything major but as I look at that area, I’m seeing them up in the northern area where Syria and Iraq come together and I believe Turkey is also in that northern area. I don’t think Turkey is involved.

There will be demonstrations or riots in France and possible minor demonstrations in England having to do with immigrants and immigration in that area.

One or more of new countries that were formed when Russia broke apart will be admitted into NATO.

SCIENCE / MEDICINE

In Physics, I see another discovery in physics that will be equivalent to a “quantum leap” in understanding the composition of energy and matter … (or “energy into matter”?)

I see breakthroughs in nuclear medicine will allow us to diagnose with greater accuracy.

I see possible medicine to slow or even halt the progress of Alzheimers. I don’t see it reversing it at this point, but I see that it might be able to stop the progress when they’re given the medication.

Also, by end of year we will hear more and more about using DNA and RNA to determine best individualized treatments for patients.

TECHNOLOGY

Advances begun this past year with PCs, TVs and cell phones will be put into place with newer technology being offered to consumers at yesterday’s prices.

We will see more and more computer technology incorporated into large and small home appliances with higher price tags at first and then a drop in price to entice buyers. So don’t be surprised if some of our appliances from furnaces, air conditioners down to toasters and mixers will have computer chips in them.

I also see the green energy technology will finally begin to be developed seriously by private industry.  Once private industry makes up its mind to put this technology into place, production will be rapid (probably not until 2010).  Instead of our government offering tax incentives for research and development, I believe what we’re going to see are limited tax incentives being offered to businesses and consumers for the implementation and use of green energy technology as it comes out.

Because of the green technology, working with energy, I see oil prices will be fairly stable. That’s not to say that they won’t go up a little bit more, but I see them fairly stable throughout the year. I don’t see huge increases like we’ve had this past year.

FINANCIAL

Consumers will become more confident with spending increasing very slowly and with caution.  This trend will continue throughout the year and will help large companies to stay in businesses and smaller companies stay afloat and even prosper with modest increases in net profit over this past year’s earnings.

Stock market will be mixed:  Occasional and I’m seeing 2-3 volatile periods of large losses and then rapid recovery. But generally during the year, I think we’ll see small gains and losses with a little bit of a gain and then it’ll stabilize, then with a little bit more of these gains and losses, then stabilize, with a little bit of an increase into the fall and then between the fall and the end of the year, I see it steadying in the fall and then very slowly moving up to end the year on an up-note.

GOVERNMENT

Old habits are hard to break:  Unfortunately old partisan habits of the past will not be easily broken. What I heard was, “While the spirit of cooperation will be voiced over-and-over, partisanship will continue throughout the year, but on a much lower scale of influence, as far as influencing what’s being done.  Cooler heads will prevail most often to allow most of the bills to be agreed on.  Public opinion and the public’s willingness to voice that opinion to their representatives will help greatly to keep those representatives working for the good of the nation.”

The objectives mentioned during the presidential campaign, all the promises that we get, such as reformation of our education programs, health care, refining trade agreements, etc., will be off to a quick start, but will take more time than we’d like to be implemented.  The committees and the staff members that are going to be let loose with these different programs will be told “we want to get this done, but we want to get it right” (those are the words I heard) and they will be cautioned to examine all options carefully before implementing and putting together these programs.

CHURCH

We will experience growth in membership and a stronger “can-do” attitude from newer members.
I see more participation in working “behind the scenes” by members and friends of MSC. There’s so much that goes on behind the scenes that most people don’t know about and I see these newer people, not coming in and taking over, but they want to help. And I also see some new local workers on this platform; those in the membership and possibly from the community this year.

Rev. Lelia Cutler

I seem to be drawn first to Afghanistan. There’s going to be greater activity in that particular area and more focus on that area as Iraq seems to be coming to a more peaceful end but it’s going to take longer than expected in Iraq, so the focus is going to shift to Afghanistan. There’s also something to do with Saudi Arabia. They’re going to be pulled into some of the discussions and negotiations as far as that part of the country is concerned. As far as the troops coming home, they’re showing me troop transports leaving, but they’re leaving in different times of the year. There’s going to be a large transport leaving about the end of March and at the end of each quarter there’s going to be deployment from that area. But they’re going to be deployed to other places as well.

As far as Israel… they’re digging in their heels. There’s something about negotiations and signing peace treaties and so on. There’s going to be more conflict.  They’re going to be invited to this country to hold negotiation session. And it will have some success but not total peace treaty signed at the time. It will come later. What they’re showing me is signatures, but there’s one missing and they’re having to get another signature as far as the total peace treaty finality.

There are going to be some terrorist attacks but they are going to be in the European arena than most anywhere else. But there maybe some a little bit north of there up into Norway, but that’s going to be small. In the European arena, you’re going to hear about some smaller terrorist attacks. It’s like they can’t get it going like the Taliban wants it to.

They’re also showing me something about Osama Bin Laden. There’s going to be big news about him. I feel that he’s going to be found and it’s either that he’s passed or he will pass during the year, as I’m seeing it. There’s big headlines, “Osama Bin Laden”. I feel too, as I’m going around…there’s something to do with Germany with their government that’s going to make a lot of news.

Taking me down south of there, there’s going to be big news coming out of Australia and New Zealand. There’s something about weather or government and it’s like big news flashing up from that general area.

With Africa, there’s going to be a blowup in two different areas and they’re showing me troops going in and taking aid. We’re going to be sending some of our carriers over there for aid. It’s like Ethiopia all over again as far as getting food to them. There’s going to be starvation and so they’re sending help in that way. The United States will be a part of that but it’s also going to be worldwide. There’s going to be a lot of pulling together as far as helping these countries.

When I go down into South America, I get the feeling as I go in that direction that we’re also going to be hearing something about Chili. There’s going to be something about the government of Chili that’s also going to be making a lot of news. It strikes fear in the hearts of some people but then it’s as though that’s over quickly and then there’s going to be greater peace that comes after that.

As far as Cuba is concerned, once again, Fidel is probably going to be passing from what I see because I see spirit rising from Cuba and I sense that the regime in Cuba is going to be a bit different after his passing. His brother is not going to maintain his standards. There’s going to be something different with that. There’s also going to be an opening of the border so that people who have left as refugees from Cuba can go back and visit family and things of that kind. There’s going to be a softening in that area.

As far as the United States is concerned, what they’re showing me is once again the weather conditions you’ve heard in both predictions and prophecy before me. They’re telling me the weather shift is going to be more pronounced as we’re going through the first part of 2009. It’s as though it’s almost designated by the universe that this is going to be a very severe winter for the northern half of the country. There’s also going to be an easing as far as fires, and so on, in places like California because they’ll get heavy rains. It seems to be that storms are coming in and helping the weather situations as afar as that’s concerned.

Going into government, it’s not going to be as easy as people think it is, but things will begin to change. They’re showing me stock markets, and finances, and so on and there’s going to be a lot more closings before this economic turmoil starts to settle. It’s going to take through the first quarter before things start to settle. At that point, we’re going to find some combinations of businesses that we never would have expected. There’s going to be some changes as far as focus. The investments – it’s as though they begin to grow, and then they stagnate and then they begin to grow, then they stagnate. It’s still going to be a bit of a roller coaster as we go through the first half of the year. By the time we get to the end of the year, they’re showing me that things are on an upward curve on the graph that I see. Things are on an upward curve by that time. The investments will have not rebounding to their original levels but they will start to show growth and start to return to normal levels, not the expanded levels that we have previously experienced with them.

There’s something about large liners off the coast of South America and up towards the southern portion of the United States. There’s going to be news about a couple of large liners; cruise liners or passenger liners. It’s going to be like a scare, but then it’s going to settle down. They’re going to find out that it was not a terrorist attempt; it was just something man created. But we will get the news of that.

Going into the medical part, there’s going to be less invasive surgery. They’re going to continue to expand the noninvasive surgeries. There’s going to be new medications also for diabetics and for cancer patients. I’m seeing a medicine that seems to be flashing with light. It’s tantamount to people rejoicing because there is something there that’s going to take care of it.  I feel too, as we’re going into the medical situation, that there’s going to be a change in hospital procedures. There’s going to be more of an allowing people to take charge of their own destiny, as far as when they go home and things of this kind. There’s going to be more caring as far as patients are concerned instead of the dictatorial mode that we’re seeing so much of now. I sense too that there’s going to be a lot more of home care. That industry is going to grow. That is going to be an emphasis in the coming year and I want to say two to three years – that’s going to be a growing emphasis.

There’s going to be an emphasis on taking care of your feet, instead of messing them up with improper shoes and then having to correct it. And it’s going to be in the schools. The schools are going to start teaching some of these things about how to take care of yourself in that way.

We’re also going to hear about a famous designer who is going to pass to spirit and it’s going to be very surprising: their benevolence, after they pass. This is going to be something that some people hadn’t expected from that individual. It’s going to be really good news.

There’s going to be new methods of disposal and retrieval of outmoded technology. I guess that is a part to do with the green…focusing on retrieval from that which we no longer need, so that they can use it for new technology.  That’s going to be around the middle of the year…that’s when it’ll come out.

As we come in closer to home, religious emphasis is going to change. There’s going to be a lot more of the universal belief system rather than just core denomination. It’s going to expand. It’s like basic beliefs are going to take a change, they’re going to move more to the universal beliefs of …practically what spiritualists believe, but it’s going to be more on that universal god, rather than the anthropomorphic god. We’re going to see changes in some of the denominations and you’re going to hear that coming down as well. Our church – once again, new youth, new emphasis on training our youth and allowing our youth to be a central part of the workings and the growth of this wonderful church. There’s a crowd coming in here. They’re saying “Happy New Year. It’s going to be a blessed New Year for you.”

Thank you.
